Out and About
Little Bidlake is perfectly placed for making the most of all that Devon and Cornwall have to offer.
The fabulous Eden Project in mid-Cornwall and the beautifully restored Lost Gardens of Heligan are within easy reach.
The attractive village of Bridestowe is less than a mile away and is home to a friendly pub, post office and general store.
Okehampton, six miles away, boasts a Norman castle, spectacular riverside park and a unique Victorian arcade. The town has a fully licenced cinema, a variety of shops, a including a Waitrose store, and has a farmers' market once a month.
A place for all seasons
Lydford Gorge, just three miles away, is the spectacular
White Lady Waterfall. And visible for miles around is the silhouetted
St Michaels Church, perched on the pinnacle of Brentor. But
the star of the scene is Dartmoor itself with its dramatic tors and
fascinating remains of an England of yesteryear.
Activities

numbers. We have a large selection of leaflets here at the farm, and
there are local tourist information centres at Okehampton, Tavistock
and Launceston. We have drying facilities for wet-weather clothes
and equipment plus a secure lockable room for tackle, tack,
bicycles and golf clubs.
Walking
On the doorstep is Dartmoor offering wealth of wonderful walks with magnificent views. We have maps, routes and books available so you can make the most of the moor. Dartmoor National Park organise a number of daily guided walks on Dartmoor that cater for both the novice and experienced walker. Closer
to home, you can explore our Farm Trail and relax down by the River
Lew. Bridestowes village trail takes you through typical Devon
lanes and footpaths and is approximately 3.5 miles in length. Bratton
Clovelly, Lydford and Lewdown, all 10 minutes away, have similar
trails. We have leaflets available, detailing each village.

Sustrans National Cycle route 27 passes through Bridestowe and the
Granite Way, 7 miles from Okehampton to Lydford, is perfect
for children, being flat with plenty of areas to rest.
Watersports
Meldon
Lake and Roadford Lake (both 10 mins away) 01409 211507 are places
where you can sail, waterski, windsurf and canoe, either on your own
or under instruction, using your own craft or hire. Or simply stroll
around the lakes and enjoy the stunning scenery.
Arts, Crafts and Photography
Artists have always been drawn to Dartmoor. The variety of scenery
and changing moods make it an intriguing subject for photographers
and artists of all abilities. Local crafts can be found in abundance
in shops and craft fairs.
Visit Dartington Crystal at Torrington and watch the skilled craftsmen
blowing and shaping beautiful crystal they have a seconds
shop available for those special presents.
